Our team is in contact with people who know the art of making clay objects, large or small, practical or decorative.
We record and study the raw materials used by the artisans as well as the processing and creation processes of each object. Then we investigate the promotion of the products and their entry into the market with the distribution networks. Alongside,
we gather folkloric and ethno-anthropological data about this art which constitutes an important chapter of the cultural identity of our country.
Our purpose is to map the craft activity of Cretan ceramics and pottery at all stages, the difficulties and needs of the sector, the strong and weak points and the prospects for development in order to design interventions that benefit them
artisans of the island.
Recordings are ongoing, data will be released in the last quarter of 2023.
